What is Tiger Eye

One of our newest pieces is our Tiger Eye bracelet. Because we love it so much, we decided to give a bit of info about the piece and about the stones themselves! It’s so interesting to find out more about the materials, especially when they are a piece of stone. 

“It is a quartz gemstone, usually amber to brown in color, that forms when fibers of the mineral crocidolite are replaced by silica. This structure of parallel fibers is preserved in the stone, and the chatoyant “eye” crosses the parallel fibers at right angles. The best specimens of tiger’s-eye are usually cut en cabochon in an orientation that yields the best display of chatoyancy.”

Now, depending on who you ask about Tiger Eye, you’re going to get very different answers. For some people, you’re going to get a pretty basic answer of “a pretty stone, black and orange” – which is a true answer. It is very pretty. 

Other people are going to give a more detailed answer, they may even tell you about the healing properties of the stone. Yes – healing powers. 

There are a lot of people out there who believe certain natural stones have innate powers, which will grant wearers special powers. 

Tiger’s Eye is known for its inspiration abilities and for bringing good luck (who couldn’t use more of that). The idea is it will help you be successful in your personal life and in your business adventures. 

Holding on to the stone and channeling its powers can help you overcome fear and give you courage. If you’re in a moment of weakness if you’re nervous about something, or you’re scared of an outcome, hold onto your Tiger’s Eye and it will give you the courage and inspiration you need. 

To dive even deeper into the powers of the stone, it’s thought the stone is made of a mixture of both earth elements and sun elements. This is what gives the stone is healing abilities and positive energy. 

If you’re looking to harness these powers, you should try and connect with the stone throughout the day or during meditation. 

Now, we aren’t saying any of that is true (although we wish it were), but it’s still really cool to hear the perceived power and emotion coursing through the stone. 

While we may not think the TIger’s Eye bracelet will make you brave or help you remain positive during your tough day at work, we do know that it looks amazing!
